40 ft One-Trip Shipping Container – Secure Storage Solution
This 40 ft shipping container offers a practical and durable solution for a variety of storage and site needs. Constructed from corrosion-resistant steel, this unit provides a weathertight environment suitable for protecting equipment, inventory, or materials . As a one-trip container, it has been used for a single international shipment and represents a high-quality option for static storage or modification projects .
Key Features

One-Trip Condition: This container has completed only one ocean voyage, meaning it is in near-new condition with minimal superficial wear such as light scratches or small dents from its initial journey .

Spacious Interior: With approximately 300 square feet of floor space and 2,385 cubic feet of internal volume, it is designed to accommodate large quantities of goods, including retail inventory, construction materials, or household items during a move .

Durable Construction: Built from COR-TEN steel, the unit is engineered to be weather-resistant and robust, ensuring the contents remain protected from the elements .

Secure Door System: The container is equipped with doors that seal securely and feature integrated lock boxes on the door handles, allowing for the use of customer-supplied padlocks for basic security .

Ventilation: Passive vents are typically included to allow airflow, which helps reduce condensation inside the unit.

Detailed Description
The 40 ft one-trip shipping container is a versatile structure primarily utilized for on-site storage and as a foundational element for various conversion projects. Its classification as a “one-trip” unit distinguishes it from standard used containers. Upon its arrival in the United States, it carried a single load of dry cargo and was subsequently retired from active shipping duty, making it available for sale .
Externally, the container may exhibit some cosmetic blemishes acquired during its sole voyage, such as minor scuffs or paint marks from the transport process. However, its structural integrity remains fully intact. The floors, walls, and door gaskets are fully preserved, with no holes or leaks present . Forklift scratches on the interior floor are considered acceptable, as they occur during the standard loading and unloading of cargo .
This unit serves as a blank slate for numerous applications. It functions effectively as a secure storage unit for job sites, farms, or commercial properties. For individuals and businesses engaged in building projects, it is frequently used as the primary structure for creating workshops, temporary offices, or even residential dwellings such as tiny homes . Its standardized dimensions also allow for future stacking or relocation should requirements change.

Package Includes

(1) 40 ft One-Trip Shipping Container

Standard door with integrated lock box

CSC plate (certifying it met shipping safety standards upon entry to the U.S.)

Dimensions and capacity

Internal dimensions are approximately 39 ft 5 in × 7 ft 8 in × 7 ft 10 in (12,032 × 2,350 × 2,393 mm), giving 2,390 cu ft (67.7 m³) of usable space, with double doors at one end. These are the standard figures for a 40ft container; exact internals vary slightly by manufacturer.

Condition

One-trip means the container has made exactly one loaded journey from the factory, so it is close to new. Expect sound paint, a clean floor and doors that seal properly, with only minor transit marks.

What it is good for

This unit is commonly used for secure dry storage. Doors, windows, insulation, electrics and paint can all be added before it ships — it is cheaper and neater to specify a conversion while the container is still in our yard than to modify it on your site afterwards.

Standards and inspection

Containers intended for international shipping carry a valid safety approval plate under the Convention for Safe Containers, administered by the International Maritime Organization. Condition grades such as cargo-worthy follow the inspection criteria published by the Institute of International Container Lessors. If you need a unit for shipping rather than static storage, tell us and we will confirm its plate before dispatch.

Delivery

Delivery is quoted against your site access rather than published as a flat rate, because haulage for a container depends on the distance, the approach and whether a crane is needed. Most deliveries use a tilt-bed truck, which needs a clear and reasonably level run about twice the container length. We price it before you commit.
