Double Door Containers

Containers with doors at both ends or on the side, so you can reach the load without unpacking everything in front of it.

A standard container has one set of doors, which means the last thing in is the first thing out. Double door and side door units solve that. Doors at both ends turn the container into a walk-through; a side door opens the long wall so the whole length is reachable.

Anyone storing stock they need to pick from, rather than archive material they will never touch, ends up wanting one of these.

Double door, also called a tunnel

Doors at each end. Useful for drive-through access, for splitting a container between two users, and for loading from one side of a yard and unloading from the other.

Side door

The full length of one side opens. This is the arrangement to choose if a forklift has to place pallets anywhere along the container rather than push them in from the end. It needs clear space beside the unit, which is worth checking against your site plan.

The trade-off

Every extra door is another seal to maintain and slightly less rigidity in the frame. Well-made units are reinforced around the opening. Ask about stacking if you intend to put anything on top.
