Wind & Watertight Shipping Containers

Sound against weather, sold for static storage rather than shipping.

Wind and watertight means the container keeps weather out. The roof is intact, the walls have no holes, and the door seals close against the frame. It is the grade most storage buyers actually need.

What it does not carry is shipping certification. A wind and watertight unit may have an expired CSC plate or none at all, which makes no difference to a container standing in a yard and all the difference to one going on a ship.

Expect cosmetic wear. Dents, previous owner markings and surface rust are normal and do not affect how the container performs.

Frequently asked questions

What does wind and watertight mean?

The container keeps weather out: an intact roof, no holes in the walls, and door seals that close against the frame. It is the grade most storage buyers actually need.

Can I ship cargo in a wind and watertight container?

Not internationally. It may have an expired CSC plate or none at all, which makes no difference to a container standing in a yard and all the difference to one going on a ship.

Will it look tidy?

Expect cosmetic wear. Dents, previous owner markings and surface rust are normal. If appearance matters, budget for a repaint or buy one-trip.

Is it guaranteed not to leak?

wind and watertight units carry a 90-day leak-free guarantee.

What is guaranteed

Weather-resistance guarantee offered on this grade: wind and watertight units carry a 90-day leak-free guarantee.

Condensation is the one thing weatherproofing does not solve. Warm damp air meets a cold roof overnight and water runs down the inside. Anti-condensation coating on the ceiling, or insulation with a pair of vents, deals with it.
