Containers, delivered properly
We supply shipping containers, container homes and modular buildings across the United States — new, one-trip and cargo-worthy, inspected before they leave us.
Who we are
SteelForge Containers sells and converts shipping containers for storage, workspace and living. We buy directly, inspect every unit before it ships, and quote delivery honestly rather than discovering it at the end.
Most of what we sell is bought sight-unseen from a photograph, which is exactly why the condition grade, the guarantee and the delivery terms below matter more than any claim we could make about ourselves.

What we guarantee
Buying a container you have not stood next to requires trust. These are the commitments we make in writing.
-
Wind and watertight guarantee
Every container graded wind and watertight is inspected and certified before dispatch. If it arrives otherwise, we put it right or take it back.
-
CSC plated where applicable
Units intended for shipping carry a valid Convention for Safe Containers plate, so they can be moved internationally without dispute.
Issued by International Maritime Organization
-
Condition graded before sale
New, one-trip, cargo-worthy or storage-grade — stated plainly on every listing, with photographs of the actual unit rather than a stock image.
-
Delivery quoted before you commit
Haulage and craneage are priced against your site access before you pay, not added afterwards.
-
Modifications to specification
Doors, windows, insulation, electrics and paint are carried out to the agreed drawing, and signed off before the unit leaves.
-
Business terms available
Approved trade accounts can order against invoice rather than paying up front.
What customers say
The unit was exactly the grade described and the driver worked with our site foreman on access. No surprises, which is rarer than it should be.
We ordered a 20ft insulated unit for a remote site. It was quoted, converted and delivered inside three weeks.
Straightforward pricing and they told us when a cheaper grade would do the job. We have bought four since.
Common questions
What does "wind and watertight" actually mean?
The container is sound enough to keep weather out: no holes, working door seals and an intact roof. It is the usual grade for storage. It does not mean the unit is cosmetically perfect — surface rust and previous owner markings are normal.
What is the difference between one-trip and used?
A one-trip container has made a single loaded voyage from the factory, so it is close to new. A used or cargo-worthy unit has been in service for years and shows it, while remaining structurally sound.
Do I need a crane, and what access do you need?
Most deliveries use a tilt-bed truck that slides the container off, which needs a clear, reasonably level run about twice the container length. Restricted sites may need a crane, which we quote separately once we know the access.
Can a container be modified after delivery?
Yes, though it is cheaper and neater to specify doors, windows, insulation and electrics before it ships, while the unit is in our yard.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock units typically ship within a few working days of payment clearing. Modified units depend on the specification and are confirmed on the quote.
Do I need planning permission?
For temporary storage on a commercial site, usually not. For a container used as a dwelling or a permanent structure, generally yes. Local rules vary and the responsibility rests with the site owner.
