Shipping Container Pool
Container swimming pools in 20ft, 30ft and 40ft, lined, plumbed and pressure-tested before they leave us.
A container pool is a steel shell with a reinforced liner, filtration and plumbing already fitted. It arrives on a truck, gets craned into place, and is swimming within days rather than the months a dug pool takes.
A 20ft gives roughly 19ft of swimming length, a 40ft around 39ft. Both are 7ft 8in wide inside, which is a lane rather than a lagoon.

Groundwork
This is the part people underestimate. A full 20ft pool weighs upwards of 44,000 lb (20 metric tons) with water in it, so it needs a proper engineered base, not sleepers. A reinforced concrete slab designed for the load is standard. Get that specified locally before ordering.
Services
You will need power for the pump and a water supply to fill. Heating and a cover are worth costing from the start in a British climate, because an unheated outdoor pool has a short season.
Above or partly sunken
Either works. Sinking it to deck level looks better and costs more in excavation. Standing it above ground with a deck alongside is quicker and can be moved later.
