- Single compartment
- Tandem rear axles
- May include a product pump, dual hose tubes, air-operated internal and terminal valves, and disc brakes
MC-331 is not a description; it is a federal specification. 49 CFR 178.337 sets out how a cargo tank for compressed gases must be built, tested and marked, and it is what makes this trailer legal to move propane on a public road. Anything hauling liquefied gas under pressure in the US is built to it.
Because it is a cargo tank rather than a storage vessel, ownership brings obligations a static tank does not: periodic inspection and retest, qualified drivers, and the marking and documentation the specification requires. Confirm the current test dates on the specific trailer before you buy. The optional equipment list matters too. A tanker without a product pump is a different working proposition from one with a pump and hose tubes, so check which build is in front of you.
We also list a Polar MC-331 tanker in the same class. For static bulk storage rather than transport, see the 18,000 gallon skid tanks or the full propane range.
