About this unit

A 20ft shipping container in new condition — never used for cargo. Chosen for general cargo and secure storage. Every unit is inspected before it leaves our yard, so the grade below is what you will actually receive.

20ft Customised Container Kiosk – Ready for Commercial Use

This 20ft customized container kiosk takes the proven steel structure of a shipping container and turns it into a compact commercial space. Instead of starting with an empty container and arranging the conversion work yourself, the major structural and interior work can be completed before the unit arrives at your site.

The result is a practical enclosed workspace that can include insulation, electrical wiring, lighting, service windows, commercial glazing, counters, shelving, a personnel door and other features according to the required configuration. It can operate as a standalone kiosk or form part of a larger commercial or event site.

Key Features

New container shell: Built around a new 20ft corrugated Corten steel container that has not been used to transport cargo.

Purpose-built commercial interior: The original cargo space is converted into a more practical environment for serving customers, displaying products, working and storing business equipment.

Integrated electrical system: The converted unit can include a dedicated electrical panel, circuit protection, pre-wired outlets and LED lighting according to the final specification.

Insulated interior: Insulation can be installed within the walls, roof and floor to reduce heat transfer through the steel structure and make the interior more comfortable.

Service openings and secure access: Depending on the design, the kiosk can incorporate commercial glazing, service windows, counters and a lockable personnel entrance.

Transportable 20ft footprint: The standard container footprint makes the kiosk easier to relocate when suitable haulage and lifting equipment are available.

Customisable layout: Counters, shelving, storage areas, windows, electrical points and other features can be arranged around the way you intend to operate the kiosk.

From Shipping Container to Working Kiosk

The main advantage of a container kiosk is that the structural shell is already there. The steel frame provides a strong foundation for the conversion, while the interior can be finished around the requirements of the business.

Creating openings for service windows and doors requires careful planning because modifications affect the original container structure. Where required, reinforcement is incorporated around new openings to maintain the integrity of the shell.

The interior can then be fitted with insulation, wall and ceiling finishes, electrical wiring, lighting, flooring and commercial fixtures. The exact specification depends on the intended application, so a coffee kiosk, retail outlet and site office may each have a different internal arrangement.

This approach can also reduce the amount of construction work required at the destination. Instead of carrying out major cutting, electrical and interior work on an empty site, much of the conversion can be completed before delivery.

Commercial Uses

Retail kiosk: Create a compact shop for merchandise, clothing, accessories, convenience products or other goods.

Coffee and beverage kiosk: A suitable starting point for a coffee counter, drinks stand or takeaway operation when fitted out to meet the applicable requirements for the intended use.

Food service: The container can be configured around food preparation, serving and storage requirements, subject to the relevant local regulations and final specification.

Event kiosk: Use it for ticketing, registration, merchandise sales, information points or vendor operations at festivals, sporting events and other temporary venues.

Customer service point: A compact enclosed space for information desks, ticket offices, reception points and customer-facing services.

Site office: With the appropriate interior fit-out, the unit can provide a practical office or staffed facility for construction sites, developments and other projects.

Dimensions and Usable Space

The underlying 20ft container provides approximately 19 ft 4 in of internal length, 7 ft 8 in of internal width and 7 ft 10 in of internal height, giving roughly 1,170 cubic feet of internal volume before the conversion is installed.

That figure should not be treated as the final usable floor area. Insulation, wall finishes, counters, shelving, partitions, electrical components and other fittings reduce the available space. The finished internal dimensions therefore depend on the selected design and layout.

For a commercial kiosk, good layout planning is important. Positioning the service counter, customer opening, storage and electrical points correctly can make a relatively small space considerably easier to work in.

What Is Included?

1 × 20ft fully converted container kiosk

Pre-installed electrical system with interior LED lighting

Installed insulation package

Commercial-grade entry door

Exterior electrical outlets, where specified in the final configuration

Leveling and tie-down equipment, where included in the agreed configuration

Condition

The underlying container is new and has not carried freight. This provides a clean, unused shell for the commercial conversion.

The finished kiosk is supplied according to its specified configuration. Features such as windows, doors, counters, electrical components, flooring, insulation, wall finishes and other fittings can vary depending on the selected design. If a particular feature is important to your project, confirm the final specification before ordering.

Why Buy a Converted Container Kiosk?

A converted container kiosk can make sense when you need a commercial space that is compact, transportable and faster to deploy than a conventional building. The steel shell provides the basic structure, while the conversion allows the interior to be designed around the way the business will operate.

It is also a flexible option for businesses that may change location. When the site and transport arrangements allow it, the kiosk can be moved rather than demolished and rebuilt at another location.

For businesses considering several units, the standard 20ft footprint can also make it easier to develop a modular site layout using multiple kiosks for separate functions such as sales, food preparation, storage or customer service.

Standards and Inspection

Containers intended for international transport are subject to the requirements of the International Maritime Organization's Convention for Safe Containers. If you intend to use the converted unit for international shipping rather than as a static commercial structure, confirm the required certification before purchase.

For additional information about container inspection practices and industry standards, the Institute of International Container Lessors provides industry guidance. A converted kiosk should also be assessed against the building, electrical, fire, food-service or other requirements that apply to its intended location and use.

Delivery and Site Requirements

Delivery is quoted according to your location and site conditions rather than as a fixed flat-rate service. Distance, road access, available placement space and the equipment required to unload and position the kiosk can all affect the delivery cost.

Because a converted kiosk can contain installed fixtures and finished interior components, delivery and placement should be planned before dispatch. The site should have a suitable access route and enough room for the delivery vehicle and any required lifting equipment.

We confirm the delivery requirements and pricing before dispatch so you know what is needed to receive and position the kiosk safely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this 20ft container kiosk new?
Yes. The underlying 20ft shipping container is new and has not been used to carry freight. The conversion is then completed according to the specified commercial configuration.

Can I customize the kiosk?
Yes. The layout can be planned around the intended use, with options such as service windows, commercial glazing, counters, shelving, storage, electrical points, insulation and other fittings depending on the project.

Can the kiosk be used for food and drinks?
It can be configured for food and beverage applications, but the final specification must meet the health, food-service, electrical, fire and other requirements that apply in the intended location.

Can I move the kiosk after installation?
The 20ft container format is transportable, but relocation requires suitable lifting and haulage equipment. Installed equipment and the condition of the destination site should also be considered before moving it.

Does the kiosk include insulation?
Yes, the described configuration includes an insulation package. The insulation material and exact installation method can vary according to the final specification.

Does it come with electrical wiring and lighting?
The specified configuration includes a pre-installed electrical system with circuit protection, outlets and LED lighting. The exact number and location of electrical points should be confirmed with the final build specification.

How much usable space is inside?
The original 20ft container provides approximately 1,170 cubic feet of internal volume, but the finished usable space will be smaller after insulation, wall finishes, counters, partitions and other fittings are installed.

Can I use it as a permanent shop?
That depends on the site and local requirements. Before installing the kiosk, check planning, building, electrical, fire, accessibility and any sector-specific requirements that apply to your intended commercial use.

Dimensions and capacity

Internal dimensions are approximately 19 ft 4 in × 7 ft 8 in × 7 ft 10 in (5,898 × 2,350 × 2,393 mm), giving 1,170 cu ft (33.1 m³) of usable space, with double doors at one end. These are the standard figures for a 20ft container; exact internals vary slightly by manufacturer.

Condition

This unit is new. It has not carried freight, and the paint, floor and door seals are as they left the factory.

What it is good for

This unit is commonly used for general cargo and secure storage. Doors, windows, insulation, electrics and paint can all be added before it ships — it is cheaper and neater to specify a conversion while the container is still in our yard than to modify it on your site afterwards.

Standards and inspection

Containers intended for international shipping carry a valid safety approval plate under the Convention for Safe Containers, administered by the International Maritime Organization. Condition grades such as cargo-worthy follow the inspection criteria published by the Institute of International Container Lessors. If you need a unit for shipping rather than static storage, tell us and we will confirm its plate before dispatch.

Delivery

Delivery is quoted against your site access rather than published as a flat rate, because haulage for a container depends on the distance, the approach and whether a crane is needed. Most deliveries use a tilt-bed truck, which needs a clear and reasonably level run about twice the container length. We price it before you commit.
